Relationships
The book “Into the Wild” by Jon Krakauer is the story of a young man who abandoned society to seek purpose and meaning alone in the wilderness. The story does not have a happy ending, but the young man left powerful reflections behind that we can learn from. Chief among them was the quote that he is perhaps most well remembered by: “HAPPINESS ONLY REAL WHEN SHARED.” As is probably obvious from the pictures on every page of our website, we love the mountains and outdoors as much as anyone, but in our work and in our personal lives, relationships are at the heart of who we are.
The importance of relationships is fundamental to what we do. The era of financial advice as a one-time transaction with a sales charge is fading, and in its place is rising the relationship-based fiduciary that brings the on-going relationship into focus. Our work is most effective when it looks more like Friend and Family than it does Advisor and Client. We want to share in your joys and struggles. We want to get to know your loved ones and include them in the process when needed.
This same principal applies to our own personal lives. Our advisors are engaged in community and non-profit boards and we are active in our children’s schools. Relationships matter. Happiness is only real when shared.
