Joel has lived in Montrose for 40 years. He knows the community well and is highly involved in local activities. Joel and spouse Sherri have adult children and grandchildren living nearby. He has served on numerous community non-profit boards such as the Montrose Community Foundation, Black Canyon Classics, and Gunnison Gorge Anglers. Joel is a life-long fly fisherman and that passion has extended to teaching fishing to adults and kids, fly tying, and freelance outdoor writing for newspapers and magazines. He also finds time to tinker with classic cars.
