Lincoln graduated from the University of Kansas School of Law and was admitted to the practice of law in Colorado in 1983. After five years in private practice in the Denver area, focusing on civil rights litigation, he left the legal profession and became a commodity trader specializing in natural gas. After more than a decade in the energy industry, while living in Denver, Portland and San Francisco, he and his spouse, Heather, returned to Colorado to raise their two young children. Lincoln began practicing law again in 2002, focusing exclusively on estate planning and elder law, giving him the opportunity to work with families as they navigate planning for important life events.
Born in Germany, living in Kansas and moving to Colorado in 1983, the Western Slope has been home for Lincoln and Heather since 1998. Heather, a retired attorney, volunteers extensively in the communities in Ouray County. Those two young children, Ben and Christine, are now grown and live in the Denver area. He and Heather are often found on their bicycles, looking for their next adventure.
